Network Operations Administrator

G4 is looking for a Network Operations Administrator to help managing our Packet and TDM network throughout New Hampshire.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct telephone support to support and field personnel.
  • Analyze and resolve network problems that could reside in the data access circuits, LAN or WAN.
  • Analyze and resolve network problems that could reside in the PSTN gateway network.
  • Perform NOC to NOC technical trouble resolution with IP, Cable and Telephone carriers.
  • Provide support to on-site personnel or customer for all aspects of product installation or problem resolution.
  • Work with the engineering group to resolve bugs and develop workarounds for server, phone or network related problems.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date log of all support calls.
  • Responsibility for off hours pager response which is rotated within the department to provide 7x24 customer support coverage.
  • Contribute to improving support procedures and monitoring diagnostic tools.

  • Qualifications:
  • Self starter ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum of 5 years support experience with LAN/WAN, telephone switching or transmission networks. Network Operations Center experience from a carrier or cable operator is preferred.
  • Understanding Ethernet networks, VLANs, and OSPF L3 routing.
  • Familiarity with telecom networks. Understanding of LAN architecture.
  • Experience with telephone and remote support of complex, critical on-line systems.
  • Proven ability to work as a team with Customer Service, NOC Peers and with Engineering.

    Telecom Provisioning Manager

    G4 Communications is a growing telecommunications company seeking for an experienced, motivated, and organized individual to manage our provisioning department for both voice and data services. Candidate must be a team player as well as someone who is prepared to work not just above his/her subordinates, but beside them as well.

    Core Duties:

  • Fill role of Provisioning Manager, Coordinator, & Network Circuit Provisioner
  • Manage and coordinate various aspects of the provisioning process to ensure both order accuracy and efficient follow up from initiation through installation
  • Build relationships with vendors to support our growing telecommunications network
  • Liaison with the Sales Department and take full responsibility for the processing and tracking of all circuit orders both internally and with underlying providers
  • Manage a small group of additional Provisioning Agents who will report directly to Provisioning Manager
  • Provide regular updates on all outstanding Provisioning orders
  • Vendor Relations/Order Placement:
    • Order T1, T3, fiber circuits for expansion of company network. These duties include, but are not limited to:
      • Longhaul facilities
      • Entrance facilities
      • Local loops
      • Trunking

  • Network Design Validation
  • LOA (Letter of Authorization) validation
  • CFA (Connecting Facility Assignments) validation
  • FOC (Firm Order Commitment) validation
  • DLR (Design Layout Record) validation
  • Directory Listing validation

    Sales Development Representative

    The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will initiate the sales process with new prospects. Contact will be made with business-to-business professionals. Candidates should be comfortable moving past gatekeepers, speaking with decision makers, and understand the process of selling over the phone. SDR's will be expected to be responsible for qualifying each prospect, scheduling demonstrations for the sales team, answering client questions, and offering solution based service offerings.     Field Technician

    Job Summary:
    Provides the technical operation and support in the installation, maintenance, and improvement of data and voice communications, and related systems and services for G4 customers and internal operations.

    Scope
    This position works in the area of G4 Operations and Services. Work contacts include administrators, project managers, vendors, staff, and general public. Equipment used includes LAN/WAN network systems, routers, modems, computerized control devices, monitors, audio and video systems, and various networking equipment.

    Supervision Received
    This position reports to the Director of Network Operations or appropriate supervisor; receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters and specific instructions regarding non-routine and sensitive matters.

    Supervision Exercised
    May direct work of temporaries, installers, and/or students. May provide guidance to customer trades people or project managers on work performed by customers.

    Representative Duties
    Installs and maintains LAN/WAN networking systems, communications cabling, A/V systems and related systems. Supports the technical operation and development of voice/data networking and related equipment; troubleshoots systems; researches and recommends changes in systems; assists customers and colleagues with configuration and use of systems; may provide training for technical operators or users; may evaluates and suggests purchases equipment; operates, maintains and installs LAN/WAN systems; performs related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Abilities
    Knowledge of: LAN/WAN transmission systems; digital communication systems; current practices and standards.

    Ability to: install, operate and troubleshoot LAN/WAN equipment, and wiring; research and evaluate electronic communication equipment; read and interpret written equipment documentation; communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties. Demonstrates ability to work in organized, systematic, and productive fashion.

    Training and Experience
    Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be college degree or technical certification and/or experience in telecommunication technology.

    Special Conditions of Employment
    Position in this class may be required to lift up to 75 lb. objects; work with network cabling enclosures, and related support systems in ceiling spaces and/or maintenance spaces.
